Bella先生-StepForwardの講師紹介③

StepForward BGC校で働く先生を紹介します。

第3回目の今回は、発音のレッスンが得意な「Bella先生」に、英語講師になったきっかけ、先生自身の性格や趣味などについてインタビューをしました。

インタビュー（日本語）

• 出身地は？

ソルソゴン市です。

• 大学の専攻は？

中等教育専攻（英語専攻）です。

• 講師の経験は？　

4年間です。

• 講師として好きなレッスンは？

発音とリスニングです。

• 趣味は？

映画・音楽鑑賞、読書、ゲームをすることです。

• 出身地はどこですか？あなたが生まれ育った場所について教えてください。

ソルソゴン市で生まれ育ちました。ソルソゴン市は小さな街ですが、豊かな街です。 いろいろなビーチに行くことができ、”ピリナッツ “や “ビコールエクスプレス “などのローカルフードが楽しめます。 ここの街の人たちは、ココナッツミルクを使ったスパイシーな料理も好んで食べます。

• 自分自身をどのように表現しますか？

1. 一緒にいて楽しい人です

2. 家族や友人と一緒に過ごすのが好きです。

3. でも、ゲームや観戦、音楽を聴くのが一番好きです。

4. 英語で話したり、シェアしたりするのが好きです。

5. 一人で過ごすのも好きなときがあります。

• 英語講師になったきっかけは何ですか？

周囲の人に影響され、英語の先生になりました。 教えることは難しいと分かっていましたが、幸いにも英語は得意な科目だったので、英語の先生になろうと思いました。学校の先生になるのは、責任が重く嫌でしたが、大学で学び続けることで良い経験や学びがあると思い、今でもこうしてスキルを磨き、英語の先生を楽しんでいます。

• 日本人の生徒に英語を教えることはどうですか？

教えることがより心地良くなりました。 様々な生徒に教えることがとても楽しく感じます。 私も英語を使って、日本人と同じように考えやアイデアを共有することができるようになりました。 日本の学生は、授業中、率直で控えめであり、素晴らしい生徒たちです。

• 休みの日は何をしますか？

私は休みの時間にいろいろな活動をしています。 趣味として回答したことと同じですが、最近は、若いころに遊んだことのあるゲームにハマっています。 また、友人と遊ぶときは、最近見つけたレストランで食べ歩きをすることが多いです。ドライブに出かけて、ドラマや映画を見るのも好きです。

• Where are you from? Can you tell about the city where you were born and raised?

I was born and raised in Sorsogon City. Sorsogon City is a small city but rich in islands. You can go to various beaches and enjoy local foods such as “pili nuts” and bicol express.” People there love eating spicy food with coconut milk too.

• How do you describe yourself? 

1. I’m a fun person.

2. I like hanging out with my family and friends.

3. But I’m mostly into games, watching games, and listening to music.

4. I love speaking in English and sharing.

5.But there are times I also love spending the time alone.

• What made you an English teacher?

The people around me influenced me to become an English teacher. I knew that teaching was difficult, but fortunately I was good at the subject and pursued it afterwards. I didn’t want to be a teacher in school because of the responsibility I would’ve had. But I knew there were still great things for me to accomplish in line with my degree. So, here I am honing this skill until now and enjoying it.

• How do you like teaching English specially to Japanese learners?

I’ve become comfortable with my job. I’ve been having fun teaching diverse students and it has been a great opportunity for me to help them learn the language. I’ve also been able to share thoughts and ideas as well as they do using English. Japanese students are direct and discreet in classes. They are great students.

• What do you do in your free time?

I do various activities in my free time. Just like what I mentioned from my hobbies. But these days, I’ve been into playing games that I’ve missed from my younger years. I also hang out with my friends and we mostly eat our way out in restaurants we’ve just discovered. I like going through roadtrips even for a day and watching series or movies.
