StepForward BGC校で働く先生を紹介します。

16回目の今回は、7年の指導歴がある「Lysa先生」に、英語講師になったきっかけ、先生自身の性格や趣味などについてインタビューをしました。

インタビュー（日本語）

• 出身地は？

タギグ市

• 大学の専攻は？

中等教育学士、英語専攻

• 講師の経験は？　

私はすでに7年間の指導歴があります。そのうち2年間は学校（Private School）で、3年間はESL業界で教えています。

• 講師として好きなレッスンは？

文法の授業と物語

• 趣味は？

映像を観ること、音楽鑑賞、寝ること、コーヒーを飲むこと

• 出身地はどこですか？あなたが生まれ育った場所について教えてください。

私はタギッグ市で生まれ育ちました。 都市部であり、商業の中心地であるボニファシオ・グローバル・シティ（BGC）が有名で、 ここではショッピングや食事、クラブを楽しむことができます。オフィスもここにあります。

• 自分自身をどのように表現しますか？

私は自分自身をambivert person（外向的、内向的な両面を保有する人）と表現します。 友人と一緒にいるのが好きですが、ほとんどの場合、私は自分の時間を楽しむために家にいました。 私は時々、静かでいたりクレイジーになったりすることがあります。 また、私は犬派で、現在、アスピン（ミックス犬）のジム・ジムという名前のペットの犬を飼っています。

• 英語講師になったきっかけは何ですか？

叔母が保育園の先生で、家に紙芝居を持ってくる姿をみて育ったので、興味を持ちました。 子供のころは先生ごっこをして遊んだ記憶があります。 高校時代には教科担任をする機会もあり、誰かの役に立ったときのやりがいを感じ、 教えることがとても楽しくなりました。

• 日本人の生徒に英語を教えることはどうですか？

日本人は英語を学ぶことにとても意欲的で、忙しくても時間を割いてくれます。 また、忍耐力もあります。日本人の文化を知ることができたのもよかったと思います。

• 休みの日は何をしますか？

自由時間には、映画やテレビドラマを見るのが好きで、特に韓国ドラマが好きです。 午後は昼寝をするのが好きです。寝る前に早く眠れる為に、音楽を聴くのも好きです。

• Teaching Experience

I’ve been teaching for five years already, two years in a formal set-up (Private School) and three years in ESL Industry.

watching videos, listening to music, sleeping, drinking coffee.

• Where are you from? Can you tell about the city where you were born and raised?

I was born and raised in Taguig city. It is an urban area and known for Bonifacio Global City or BGC which is the commercial center, here we can enjoy shopping, eating or clubbing. It is where the office can be found as well.

• How do you describe yourself? 

I would describe myself as an ambivert person, I like being with friends but most of the time I stayed home so I could enjoy my me time. I can be quiet and crazy sometimes. HAHA. I am also a dog-person, currently we have a pet dog named Jim-jim, an aspin.

• What made you an English teacher?

My aunt was a preschool teacher, growing up I saw her bringing paper works at home so I became interested. I remember playing as a teacher when I was a kid. I was also given a chance to be a subject teacher when I was in high school, I enjoyed teaching very much especially the rewarding feeling it gives when you are able to help someone.

• How do you like teaching English specially to Japanese learners?

Japanese people are very motivated to learn English, they would allot their time eventhough they are busy. They are patient as well. I also enjoyed that I got to learn their culture.

• What do you do in your free time?

In my free time, I like watching movies or tv series especially kdramas! In the afternoon, I like taking a nap. I also like listening to music before I sleep. It helps me to fall asleep faster.
