Tanci先生 -StepForwardの講師紹介20

StepForward BGC校で働く先生を紹介します。

20回目の今回は、「Tanci先生」に、英語講師になったきっかけ、先生自身の性格や趣味などについてインタビューをしました。

インタビュー（日本語）

• 出身地は？

マカティ市の中心にあるポブラシオンに住んでいます。子供の頃から住んでいます。23年住んでいるので、家の近所や訪れたことのある建物がさまざまに変化する様子を見てきました。

• 大学の専攻は？

中等教育（英語専攻）の学士号を取得したことが誇りです。英語を専攻していたことで、口の動きが理解できるようになりました。さまざまな文献に触れ、よりよい考え方ができるようになりました。

• 講師の経験は？　

公立高校で、インターンとして英語教師の仕事を始めました。その後、外国人学生を担当する経験を積みたいと思い、Enderun Collegesに移りました。現在はここ、StepForwardで働いています。

• 講師として好きなレッスンは？

好きなレッスンは、ずっと変わらず文法です。文法が得意だったので、大学で勉強を始める前、高校の先生から英語教育の道に進むよう言われました。文法以外では、正しい発音のレッスンにも興味があります。

• 趣味は？

ストレス発散ができるので、ゲームに没頭しています。また、高校生の頃からアニメの大ファンです。最後に、音楽を聴くのも好きです。

• 出身地はどこですか？あなたが生まれ育った場所について教えてください。

先ほどお話ししたように、マカティ市のポブラシオンに23年住んでいます。マカティはビジネスパーソンが働く、とても忙しい街です。ポブラシオンがマカティの中心であるのは、マカティの歴史の中で最初にできた地区だからです。

• 自分自身をどのように表現しますか？

私はいわゆる「フーディー」で、食べ物に目がありません。また、思いやりや忍耐力もあります。

• 英語講師になったきっかけは何ですか？

最初に英語の先生になったのは、高校の先生に教育学位を取るように言われたからです。しかし、今ではそれ以上になりました。英語は世界でもっとも使われる言語の１つです。英語はむずかしく、そのせいで勉強を嫌がる人たちもいます。私は、楽しくインタラクティブな方法で学べるということをみなさんに知ってもらいたいと考えています。

• 日本人の生徒に英語を教えることはどうですか？

日本のみなさんに英語を教えるのはとても楽しいです！日本の文化を学ぶことに興味があり、日本の文化や信念がどういうものなのかを理解できるようになりました。

• 休みの日は何をしますか？

休みの日は、祖父母の家でゆっくりして、ゲームをしたりアニメを見たりしています。ときどきモールに行って、商品を見て回ることもあります。

Interview（English）

• Hometown

I currently live in Poblacion, the heart of Makati City. I have lived here since I was young.
Living here for 23 years, I was able to see the different changes from my neighborhood and the buildings I have visited.

• Major in University

I am proud to say that I am a graduate of Bachelors of Secondary Education-Major in English.
Being an English major, I was able to understand how our mouth works. Being exposed to different literatures that further helped me think better.

• Teaching Experience

I started working as an intern in a Public High School as an English Teacher. Then I switch to being an ESL Teacher at Enderun Colleges because I wanted to experience handling foreign students. Now I am here in StepForward.

• Favorite Lessons as A Teacher

My favorite lesson as a teacher has always been Grammar. Before I started studying for College, my high school teacher told me to pursue English Education because I was proficient in Grammar. Aside from Grammar, I am interested n teaching proper pronunciation lessons as well.

• Interest

I am very much indulged in playing games as this is my way of releasing my stress. Aside from gaming, I am a huge anime fan ever since I was high school student. Last but not the least, I like listening to music.

• Where are you from? Can you tell about the city where you were born and raised?

As I said, I currently live in Poblacion, Makati for 23 years now. Makati is such a busy city with business people working here. The reason why Poblacion is the heart of Makati as this is the first district to be built in the history of Makati.

• How do you describe yourself? 

I am someone who is an avid fan of food, which is what they call a foodie. Another is that I am an understanding and a patient person.

• What made you an English teacher?

At first, I became an English Teacher because my high school teacher told me to pursue an Education degree. Now it goes beyond than that, English is one of the most used languages in the world. I have observed that people do not like studying English because it’s hard. I want to show to everyone that there are ways on learning English in a fun and interactive way.

• How do you like teaching English specially to Japanese learners?

Teaching English to Japanese Learners is such a fun experience! As a person who is interested in learning the Japanese culture. I was able to understand how their culture and their beliefs work.

• What do you do in your free time?

During my free time, I just relax inside my grandparent’s house and play games or watch anime. Sometimes, I also go to malls to look around for items.
